English Heritage
Bring your teaching to life and inspire your students at 400 sites across England. Your students can explore and discover the places where history happened at our prehistoric sites, castles, abbeys and country houses including Stonehenge, Hadrian’s Wall and Battle Abbey just to name a few.
Discovery Visits
English Heritage provides award winning Expert-Led Discovery Visits that are interactive, hands-on and immersive. At just £100 per class per session at selected sites, these visits have been specifically designed to meet the needs of different groups across the key stages.
Free Self-Led Visits
Lead your visit in your own way for free! English Heritage offers free entry to pre-booked schools and other learning groups at any of the historic places in its care. Find out if you're eligible for a free visit by checking the Terms and Conditions. Search over 400 places across the country and get in touch with the booking team who can advise you on suitable times to bring a learning group and what to expect from a free visit.
Free Teaching Resources
English Heritage's teaching resources have been designed to meet the needs of the curriculum, linking what you learn at a property with pre- and post-visit classroom activities. It's continually developing a range of relevant and engaging resources to support learning groups before, during and after their visit. See the full range of resources on the website.
