Teachers now have access to more school trip options after a specialist educational travel company recently acquired three other travel operators.

Blackpool-based Next Generation Travel (NGT), has taken on Study Experiences, Sport Experiences and Remembrance Travel, all based in Surrey; adding to its portfolio which already includes WST, FHT and Anglia Tours.

The parent company describes itself as the driving force behind some of the UK’s fastest growing educational travel brands. It offers immersive tours to young people from age 10 - 21 years-old, which are designed to offer unique and empowering learning experiences outside of the classroom.

What the acquisition means?

The group, which organises school trips throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide, will be able to increase its passenger number to more than 70,000 each year. It says it will also be able to offer a broader selection of specialist tours for teachers.

Deborah Beckett, managing director of Next Generation Travel (NGT), said: “These new brands enable us to enter new markets and deliver a broader selection of specialist tours for our clients. A key part of our strategic expansion plans, we’re delighted to bring NGT’s high levels of customer service and experience to these well-established brands.”

Paul Bevan, director of Study Experiences, added: "I'm delighted that Study Experiences, along with sister brands Sport Experiences and Remembrance Travel for Schools & Young People are now part of specialist group travel provider NGT.

"We will continue to offer our portfolio of exclusive curriculum-related tours and sporting events, such as the Seminar and Workshop Study Experience programme and the International Junior Netball Festival at Disneyland Paris; the London Theatre Experience and packages to the 2019 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, as well as our unique partnership with the Royal British Legion, providing journeys of remembrance to the battlefields of WWI and WWII for schools and colleges."
