EVC webinar tackles inclusion, budgets and trip planning

The aim of the session is to help EVCs and teachers involved in organising school trips increase participation across year groups, balance educational impact with budgets and planning, gain practical advice and make visits inclusive and accessible.

Those joining the webinar can expect to gain insights into the government’s new Enrichment Framework, alongside practical strategies for long-term planning and guidance on making educational visits both accessible and successful — whatever your level of experience as an EVC or school travel organiser.

The webinar, which takes place at 4pm on 29th September on Zoom, is being delivered by Rayburn Tours and supported by EVOLVE Advice. Rayburn won the Best School Tour Operator (Large) category at last year’s School Travel Awards.

What will be covered and who is speaking?

Marie Towns is the EVC for St Edmund’s College and Prep School in Hertfordshire and will be discussing how schools can build a strategic programme of educational visits that is safe, affordable and enriching for every pupil. She’ll explore how careful long-term planning, cross-curricular trips and strong collaboration across the school can increase participation.

Hannah Pilgrim is the EVC at Downe House an independent girls’ boarding school in Berkshire. Hannah will be covering how her approach has increased participation, supported parents’ budgets and enriched learning. She will also provide practical advice on planning trips up to two years ahead, securing approvals, training staff, and delivering successful educational experiences.

Andy Smith is director of advice at EVOLVE Advice and will explore how schools can streamline educational visit planning through digital processes, using systems such as EVOLVE to strengthen oversight, simplify documentation and provide a clear evidence trail for Ofsted. He’ll share how these approaches can reduce administrative burden whilst giving staff, parents and school leaders confidence in every visit.

Finally, Clare Carlin, education programme manager at the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom will discuss how to evaluate your school’s enrichment offer, increasing participation and choosing trusted LOtC Quality Badge providers to help deliver safe, impactful educational visits with confidence.

Following the presentations, the panel will take part in a live Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to ask questions. They will be joined by Rayburn Tours’ Key Accounts team, who will share strategic planning advice and answer questions around developing long-term educational visit programmes that support your school’s wider enrichment objectives.
