Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs brings Apple TV+’s award-nominated series to life with a 360 degree display and never seen before material.
Based at London King’s Cross from 9th July, the latest show from Lightroom takes visitors on a journey to see dinosaurs closer than ever before, through storytelling, visual displays and sound technology.
Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs has been created in collaboration with Apple TV+ and explores the role dinosaurs have played in shaping our world from 66 million years ago until now.
The show will feature apex predators including Tyrannosaurus Rex, towering herbivores such as Dreadnoughtus, Triceratops, Alamosaur and Isisaurus and marine reptiles including Kaikaifilu and Tuarangisaurus. The impressive creatures will be presented during key moments of their lives in a state-of-the-art 360 degree projection which gives viewers the chance to see them in awe-inspiring scale and walk alongside them through habitats including deserts, skies and deep oceans.
Never seen before material, including exclusive extended CGI scenes and bespoke illustrations will feature in the 360 degree show which includes the original score by Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman and Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music.
Mike Gunton, executive producer of Prehistoric Planet and BBC Studios Natural History Unit creative director said: “I always imagined Prehistoric Planet as like stepping into a time machine and travelling back to the time when dinosaurs ruled Planet Earth. The Lightroom experience will be just that!
“There’s nowhere else where you can be surrounded by the most amazing animals to have ever lived - see them all life-size, and really close-up, watch their dramatic lives unfold and understand what life was like 66 million years ago. For a wildlife film-maker it’s a dream come true!”
Students can explore the prehistoric world and learn how dinosaurs shaped the earth and evolved over time. The show will also look at the science behind ecosystems, adaptation and survival in the prehistoric world.
Running until 2nd November 2025, each show lasts 50 minutes. School groups of ten or more can take advantage of discounted tickets and one free ticket for every ten booked.
