It has been announced that the Hôtel des trois Hiboux in Parc Astérix in France, will be expanding in order to make more room for schools and families.

The theme park, located in Plailly, France – just over an hour from Paris – offers  rides and attractions as well as accommodation themed around The Adventures of Astérix, a French comic book series.

The hotel was opened in 1999 and was designed to fit in with the natural landscape that surrounds the park.

The new wing of the hotel will included 50 new rooms, bringing the capacity of the establishment up to 150 rooms. The new development will be completed by April this year.

Also new to the park this year will be the Pegase Express, a high speed ride that takes passengers on a virtual journey through Greece, from the station of Montparnos to the temple of Medusa.

In 2018 a brand new hotel will also be added to the park which will include a further 150 rooms, within the heart of the forest. The new hotel will be called La cité Suspendue or Suspended City.
