Thames Clippers operates 23 piers around London, including near Tower Bridge and Westminster.

Planning a school trip in London? School groups can book in advance to receive a 10% discount on single, return and River Roamer tickets.

River Roamers provide ticket holders with a hop on, hop off option that can be used an unlimited number of times from 9am until the end of service that day.

What is Thames Clippers?

The river bus service operates boats between 23 key piers around the capital: North Greenwich’s O2, Canary Wharf, and the London Eye, to name a few. Running at 20 minute intervals, the service carried 4.2 million passengers in 2018 and has introduced contactless and Oyster payments to make it easier to navigate the city by river.

Each boat has climate controlled cabins, sightseeing space, coffee bars offering refreshments and an audio guide app that provides commentary as you travel.

Bonus discount for trips to the Tate Britain

Schools can save an extra 5% when visiting Steve McQueen’s Year 3 exhibition. Running until 3rd May 2020, the exhibition brings together photographs taken at 1,340 schools across London, showcasing the city’s diverse youth.

Groups of 10 or more students can receive the Thames Clippers discount when booking at least two weeks in advance. After sailing down the Thames, boats RB2 and RB6 will stop at Millbank Pier, across the street from the Tate Britain.

Schools travelling from further afield by coach can park for free at North Greenwich near the Thames Clippers’ pier, before getting on board.

Year 3: A Portrait of London is a free event. Read more about it here.
