Students to experience new heights at Go Ape’s Sherwood Pines

Date Posted: 28/08/2018

Go Ape has just opened a new adventure course, Nets Kingdom, at its Sherwood attraction which can be experienced on an educational visit.

Opened earlier in the summer, Nets Kingdom is described as an adventure playground, set 30 feet above the forest floor.

Suitable for school groups of all Key Stages, the latest addition allows youngsters to delve into a world of high nets and tree top trampolines.

Classes can spend hours bouncing, crawling and clambering through an expansive network of tree top bounce nets, giant ball play areas, netted walkways and slides.

Why visit Go Ape with your school?

Go Ape has 33 locations across the UK. Primary school visits can be booked at 21 of the locations and Secondary visits at 32.

A Primary school visit can build teamwork, confidence, and resilience. Team challenges can be added to any school visit allowing pupils chance to build their communication skills. Ground-based activities can also be added.

For Secondary schools, a visit can see students tackling wobbly obstacles, zip wires and ‘Tarzan Swings'. Pupils can also enjoy Forest Segway experiences to learn about new technologies.

Teachers can also download a schools’ pack, which includes risk assessments, consent forms, and learning resources.

Tristram and Rebecca Mayhew, founders of Go Ape, commented on Net Kingdom and the Go Ape experience: “Forests provide many of Britain’s best natural playgrounds.”

“We hope visitors will discover everything else they can do in a forest – whether it’s watching the wildlife, going for a walk or just unwinding.’

Go Ape locations include: Aberfoyle, Scotland; Dalby Forest, Delamere Forest in the North; Buxton, Cannock Chase and Sherwood Pines in the Midlands; Margam Country Park in Wales; Bedgebury and Black Park County Park in the South East; Alexandra Palace and Battersea Park in London; and Forest of Dean and Haldon Forest park in the South West.
