The School Travel Awards ceremony is always eagerly awaited, but due to the disruption of the past two years, the lead-up to the 2022 event was even more exciting.

Taking place at a new venue at the five-star Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on 25th May, 250 guests gathered, made up of teachers, LOtC practitioners and providers.

An enjoyable drinks reception gave everyone the chance to network, meet new contacts and catch-up with old friends and colleagues. A wonderful lunch was followed with a surprise performance from Disney’s Frozen the West End Musical.

Olympic medallist and broadcaster, Katharine Merry, was the special guest host and presented the ceremony itself alongside School Travel Organiser publisher, Rob Yandell.

Awards Partners were in charge of opening the gold envelopes and announcing the winners.

The atmosphere built as finalists found out whether they had won, which culminated in emotional scenes as teacher, Sue Dutton made her way to the stage to collect the School Trip Champion Award.

STO publisher, Rob Yandell said: “It was such a positive afternoon, and it was made so by a truly special group of people representing all that is best in learning outside the classroom. My thanks go to the Awards Partners, with congratulations to the finalists and winners.”
