Schools can book educational visits to UK Parliament for dates between January - July 2027 when bookings open on 23rd September.
Schools must be registered by the end of the day on 22nd September in order to book a free education visit. Once registered, schools can book for the spring and summer terms 2027 on 23rd September at 10am.
This will be the only day to book a visit during these terms. The next booking day will be in February for visits in the autumn term.
What you need to know
Schools can only book one academic visit per term in order to increase the number of schools able to visit Parliament. Up to 24 schools visit each day during term time, with 85,000 young people visiting the on-site Education Centre every year.
Schools will also now need to book a medium or large group visit slot. Medium groups are from 12 to 36 people (pupils and adults combined) and large groups are from 37-72 people (pupils and adults combined).
Booking slots will be allocated based on the number of schools in each English region and UK nation, using national school statistics.This is to ensure schools from all parts of the UK have an equal opportunity to book a visit. Once a region reaches its allocation, bookings for that area close.

Education visits to parliament
The free daily schools programme held at the Education Centre offers schools a tour of the Houses of Parliament, curriculum-linked workshops for Key Stages 2-5 and an immersive 360-degree introductory film. A tour is always included, and schools can choose whether they want to add on a workshop or the film.
During workshops, pupils can build their own laws (ages seven to 11), learn about and create petitions (ages 11-16) and start their own parties with policies and a manifesto (ages 16-18). School groups are also given the chance to meet and talk with their local MP during a visit, subject to availability.
Travel subsidies to reduce the cost of transport to the Houses of Parliament are available for eligible state schools outside of London and the South East of England.
