School Travel Organiser has partnered with easyfundraising to show schools how to earn free funding through everyday online shopping – money that could be put towards booking a future school trip. One school has raised over £4,000! Find out more…

We all know that school trips have a significant impact on the growth, confidence and ability of students, but these life changing experiences should also be as inclusive as possible. That can present challenges when it comes to covering costs and funding.

But this is where easyfundraising can help; it’s a leading online platform that can supercharge your fundraising – and as the name suggests, it’s easy.

It’s a fundraising approach that enables every parent to support your school when they buy everyday items. In turn, you can use the funds raised to support your school, which of course can include investing in learning outside the classroom.

How does easyfundraising work?

easyfundraising works with more than 6,000 online retailers who want to give a little back, like Amazon, eBay, Tesco, Wilkos, Argos, B&Q, Waterstones, The Entertainer, and thousands more to offer your school free money as a thank you for shopping with them.

As many of your parents are time-starved, be assured that easyfundraising is a quick and easy way for them to support your school. There is a handy ‘Donation Reminder’ which can be downloaded onto laptops and computers to collect free funding in just one click. Or, for those who enjoy online shopping on their mobile or tablet, there is the easyfundraising app.

Teachers can register for a free account and start raising funds today.

On average most retailers offer a 1.5% - 3% donation for every online purchase and when a school’s ‘supporters’ shop regularly, the money soon mounts up and enables them to reach their target. Schools can also earn significant funding through easyfundraising when parents compare and switch their household bills (up to £45) or renew their car insurance (up to £50).

One school raised more than £4,000

Queen Mary’s Grammar School in Walsall has raised more than £4,000 which has helped them to purchase a new minibus for school trips. By mentioning easyfundraising at parents’ evenings, induction events and by sending out regular messages, Queen Mary’s recruited 270 supporters. Judy McCoy, lead teacher, said: “We would certainly recommend easyfundraising. I find that sending out a message via the head’s newsletter is very effective. I also write to each of the five top raisers at the end of each term to thank them personally.”

Joanna Stuart, a supporter of Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton, said: “Whether it’s my weekly delivery from Sainsbury’s, buying electrical goods from Argos, some bedding from John Lewis, or booking holidays at booking.com, the cash pours into my daughter’s school.”

Without changing any of her spending habits, Joanna has raised nearly £1,000, which Lady Eleanor Holles School has put towards buying new equipment. Joanna continued: “easyfundraising is a no-brainer, and an easy way to raise cash for your school.”
