A unique initiative, the School Travel Awards is organised by School Travel Organiser and highlights and rewards the best attractions, providers, destinations and experiences for school trips, as nominated and voted for by readers. Plus, schools have two chances to win £2,000 to spend on a future educational visit through the ‘My Best School Trip’ Award and School Trip Champion Award.
Rory Brember: an exciting host
As a mimic, Rory Bremner has provided definitive impersonations of PMs and presidents from Major to Mandela, Blair to Brown, Clinton to Cameron and Bush to Trump. As himself, he’s been presenter, writer, quiz-show host, actor, translator and even (briefly) ballroom dancer in Strictly Come Dancing.
In a TV career of over 30 years, Rory’s won numerous awards, including three BAFTAs and appeared on Have I Got News for You, and Mock the Week, where he was team captain for two series. He’s currently on tour with his new show, Making An Impression.
Rob Yandell, publisher of School Travel Organiser commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured Rory as our VIP guest. This annual celebration is always the highlight of the school travel calendar and this year will be no exception.”
At every School Travel Awards since its launch there has been a surprise West End performance at the start of proceedings. Rob was asked who will feature this year?
“Now that would be telling,” he replied. “We never guarantee that we will have a theatre production and therefore we never spoil the surprise! Last year we had a fantastic performance from the cast of SIX and like everyone else I await this year’s Awards with high anticipation – it’s an occasion not to be missed.”
Huge awards engagement in 2025
Partnerships for this year’s awards sold out in record time and the initiative has also received huge engagement throughout its initial nomination period. Finalists will be announced soon and voting opened to determine the winners.
Senior group sales manager for School Travel Organiser, Sharon Yandell commented: “We’re thrilled with the backing of the sector and are so grateful to the attractions and providers that continue to be a part of this unique initaitive that not only rewards the best but also highlights the importance of school travel and educational visits.”
