Nine schools have secured a place on Jet2holidays’ Ultimate School Trip to Sol Katmandu Park & Resort in Majorca, after winning the nationwide competition.
The winning schools will be heading on to the resort in Majorca this April after entering the competition run by holiday company Jet2holidays and school travel company WST Travel.
After devising and creating competition entries in response to a challenge posed by Jet2holidays which was to produce a promotional piece for Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, nine schools have been crowned winners.
The winners have been revealed as: Newburn Manor Primary (Newcastle); Waterfoot Primary (Manchester); Tirlebrook Primary (London Stansted); St Lukes CE Primary (Leeds Bradford); Loudon Montgomery Primary (Glasgow)l; Canal View Primary (Edinburgh); Southwark Primary (East Midlands); St Paul’s C of E (Birmingham); and St Patrick’s Primary (Belfast International).
What will the trip involve?
Each winning class, along with their teachers, will now get to spend a long weekend (Friday 20th April to Sunday 22nd April 2018) at the resort where they will take part in fun educational workshops with celebrity hosts including Dick & Dom and Diversity’s Jordan Banjo.
The workshops will focus on Science, History, Drama and Crafts, as well as giving pupils all the excitement you would expect from a school trip overseas.
In addition, the pupils will get to enjoy a range of one-off experiences such as a VIP send off at the airport, a welcome dinner with celebrities, and a school disco and show.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays commented: “The pupils from the nine winning schools came up with brilliant ideas and put a huge amount of work into their entries, so they really deserve their place. That hard work has really paid off, as they now get to experience this educational trip of a lifetime and travel to Majorca with their classmates to experience a long weekend of fun and learning.”
Sian Belfield, customer relations director of WST Travel said: “The WST team are delighted to partner Jet2 on this competition - it opens up learning experiences beyond the classroom and will create memories that last a life time.”
