Merlin For Groups unveils new trip planning website with schools section

Merlin For Groups has launched a new website, with a section designed to help with planning for school trips.

The idea behind the website is to create a one stop resource where teachers can log on and find all the details they need to plan school trips to Merlin attractions such as Legoland, Madame Tussauds and Sea Life centres around the country.

The site is divided into sections, broken down by key stages, and then the length of trip, whether it’s a two-hour visit or a full day.

The half day options outline itineraries that have lots of educational value, whereas the full day suggestions give teachers the added options of talks and workshops.

For example, at The Tower Ballroom, Blackpool, schools can combine their visit with a 45 minute dancing enrichment lesson with a dance teacher, suitable for Key Stages 1 to 4.

A full day for a Primary school at Warwick Castle, meanwhile, includes talks about the benefits Warwick Castle offers for groups.

There are eight different workshops for Primary schools to add on and an additional eight workshops for secondary schools, and a fun activity worksheet can be downloaded there and then to be completed before a visit to the castle.

As a final example, teachers can discover that at Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester, schools can benefit from school pricing, free teacher places and free planning tickets.

They’ll find that they can also add on interactive workshops for Key Stages 1 and 2, and how the range of hands-on learning experiences bring the worlds of Maths, Science and Technology to life outside the classroom.

All information for schools can be found together on the website in one area, eliminating the need to search each attraction’s website to discover what is and isn’t suitable for that particular Key Stage or time frame.

Merlin For Groups also provides downloadable content such as risk assessment forms, educational resources and even fun activity worksheets for pupils, too, and has a team of dedicated account managers behind the scenes to help support the booking process.
