The life work of renowned fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent could offer inspiration for Design students.

Between 11th July and 25th October, the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, near Durham, will host an exhibition called Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal.

The first exhibition of its type in the UK, it will showcase the life and work of Yves Saint Laurent and feature more than 50 garments, including some iconic pieces from his Russian Collection, the Mondrian Dress and the Tuxedo.

The Bowes Museum has hosted a series of exhibitions in the past, featuring the work of famous fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Prada.

The YSL event has been created to build on this narrative on the history of fashion. A series of educational workshops are expected to run in conjunction with the exhibition.
