What’s coming up at the National Railway Museum?

York venue, the National Railway Museum has announced details of its forthcoming exhibition programme.

Lines in the Landscape: Now open until 5th May

The Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition, Lines in the Landscape will display a number of winning photographs, depicting the speed and momentum of the railways against landscapes.

It is also the first time that all winners and runners up from the past four years will be exhibited together.

The Great Goodbye (at NRM Shildon): 15th to 23rd February

The Great Goodbye will be the last chance for any children on a school visit to see all six A4 locomotives together before the repatriated locomotives return to their home museums.

Open for Business: 16th May to 7th September

Open for Business is a photographic exhibition which reveals the untold story of British manufacturing and industry through the lens of some of the world’s greatest photographers.

Photographer Mark Power’s shots of Bombardier in Derby show the manufacture of carriages and their interiors in intricate detail.

All exhibitions are free for schools to visit, as are the National Railway Museum’s range of educational workshops.
