West End transfer for The Scottsboro Boys

Date Posted: 28/05/2014

The Scottsboro Boys will transfer to the West End’s Garrick Theatre following a sold-out season at London’s Young Vic.

Previewing from 4th October, the production will run for a strictly limited 20-week season.

Winner of the Critics’ Circle Best Musical of 2013, The Scottsboro Boys received six Olivier Award and 12 Tony Award nominations.

The provocative musical features music and lyrics from the creators of Cabaret and Chicago John Kander and Fred Ebb, with direction and choreography from multiple Tony Award winner Susan Stroman.

Based on a true story, it follows nine black teenagers in 1930s America who are accused of an unspeakable crime, the trial of which divides the nation.
