Wendy Wu Tours launches foreign exchange initiative

Date Posted: 21/10/2015

China specialist travel company Wendy Wu Tours has announced a new initiative offering 22 UK pupils aged between 13 and 16 the chance to join one of several educational tours in China, departing next in summer.

This follows a pledge by the government to get over 5,000 more pupils learning Mandarin in school by 2020; the trips aim to develop language skills, and encourage cultural and social exchange between British and Chinese students.

Each UK student will be assigned to a group of Chinese students of the same age, and tour with them throughout China to learn about some of the country’s cultural and historical sites.

The tours are aimed at students who are learning Mandarin at GCSE level and are aged between 13 and 16, and the application process will open on 4th January and close on 29th February.

Travel will take place between 16th July and 28th August.
