UK tour for Scrooge musical

Date Posted: 19/08/2013

Direct from its West End run at the London Palladium last Christmas, Tommy Steele will reprise his role as Ebenezer Scrooge in Bill Kenwright’s production of the musical Scrooge, which is set to tour the UK from October this year.

The UK tour opens at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 23rd October, and will visit other venues including the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham and the Brighton Centre.

Tommy’s career includes over 20 hit singles, Hollywood films such as The Happiest Millionaire and Finian’s Rainbow, and stage musicals such as Half a Sixpence, Hans Andersen and Singin’ in the Rain.

Synopsis

Based on Charles Dickens’ story A Christmas Carol, Scrooge the Musical is billed as the perfect heart-warming treat for audiences.

School groups can see Ebenezer, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future and a whole host of Dickensian characters, as well as on-stage illusions by magician Paul Kieve (acclaimed for the magic effects in the Harry Potter films).
