UK tour for Lord of the Flies

Date Posted: 02/10/2013

A national tour of a new production of Lord of the Flies will open at the Lowry Theatre in Salford on 2nd April 2014, followed by visits to venues including the Birmingham Hippodrome and the Liverpool Empire.

Adapted and directed by Matthew Bourne and Scott Ambler, the New Adventures production is based on the classic novel by William Golding of the same name.

The stage production of Lord of the Flies sees the action transferred from deserted island to deserted theatre. A group of schoolboys including Ralph, Piggy and Jack find themselves abandoned.

Without adults around they start to make their own rules and create their own civilisation, before order breaks down and the story builds to a climax.
