The Snow Dragon tour announces free educational resources

Date Posted: 06/10/2015

The production of The Snow Dragon, based on an original story by Toby Mitchell, has announced an autumn and winter UK tour to celebrate the show’s tenth anniversary, perfect for Key Stage 1 Drama, English and Art lessons.

The Snow Dragon is about a young greedy goat named Billy looking forward to the arrival of the mystical Snow Dragon, who is said to bring presents to all the animals each New Year's Eve.

The play is set to open on 23rd October at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, and close on Christmas Eve at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot. Other venues on the tour circuit include Greenwich Theatre in London and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

To accompany the tour, a teacher’s resources pack for post-show creative workshops has been made available, mainly designed with Art, English and Drama tasks in mind, for both three to five and five to seven year old groups of students.

The teaching packs are free, and sent out via email. Tasks for students include interpreting what noises monsters make, representing tales through physical storytelling, and using different points of view when narrating.
