The Pride on three week UK tour

Date Posted: 26/11/2013

Jamie Lloyd’s third production for his Trafalgar Transformed Season, the multi award-winning The Pride, will embark on a three week UK tour to Brighton, Manchester and Richmond in January.

The Pride stars Harry Hadden-Paton (Posh, She Stoops to Conquer) as Philip, Naomi Sheldon (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor) as Sylvia and Al Weaver (Inadmissible Evidence, Hamlet) as Oliver.

The Pride follows Jamie Lloyd’s The Hothouse and Macbeth, making up the three productions comprising the Trafalgar Transformed Season.

Synopsis

Philip, Oliver and Sylvia exist in a complex love triangle, which spans over half a century, living and loving simultaneously in 1958 and the present against a background of changing attitudes towards homosexuality.

Past and present worlds grind together and melt apart, yet the future and its promise of sexual liberation remains ever elusive, as societal repression gives way to self-deception.

The Pride tour dates:

Theatre Royal Brighton: 14th -18th January
Opera House Manchester: 20th - 24th January
Richmond Theatre: 27th January - 1st February

School group rates are available; teachers should contact their chosen venue to find out more.
