Take your students into an operating theatre

Operating Theatre Live! is a three-day residential medical summer school for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 school groups running from 22nd to to 24th July at Reddish Vale Technology College in Stockport.

Students will have the chance to take part in the following activities:

•    Hands-on dissection to enrich their understanding of the human body.
•    Work with medical surgeons to learn surgical techniques on real dissected animal specimens.
•    Learn how to write a winning application to medical school.
•    Meet current medical students and discover life as a student doctor.
•    Work with NHS consultants to diagnose case studies.

The course costs £250 per pupil. This includes overnight camping accommodation with all meals; two tickets per pupil for the parent-student lecture on the final Thursday evening; a medical goodie bag containing operating theatre scrubs, hats, masks, t-shirt, mug, pen, notepad, stethoscope and UCAS/University information.

Operating Theatre Live! is organised by teacher Samuel Piri.

He has an academic background in the Medical Sciences, and having studied the human anatomyand the physiology of the human body, he trained to teach at The University of Manchester.
