Stage adaption of The Velveteen Rabbit

Date Posted: 04/02/2014

Children’s classic The Velveteen Rabbit will run at the Unicorn Theatre in London from 21st March to 9th April.

The Velveteen Rabbit is billed as an enchanting story of friendship, transformation and growing up, which takes us to the very heart of toys and children and speaks of things it finds there; fear, loyalty, compassion and wonder.

Written in 1922 by London-born Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit is one of the most popular books for children in the United States.

Several film adaptations have been made of the story, which is frequently staged in theatres across America where it continues to be on the teachers’ top 100 books for children.

There will be a number of activities and events taking place in the Unicorn Theatre foyer around this production, including a ‘sock bunny’ workshop on 5th April and a special Easter event.

The Velveteen Rabbit is suitable for school groups of children aged four and above.
