Spinnaker Tower to offer a discounted rate for autumn educational visits

Date Posted: 13/07/2015

Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth will give UK school and college groups a 50 per cent discount off the entry price throughout November.

Groups of ten or more students will be eligible for the reduced admission rate, with one teacher receiving free entry for every ten pupils admitted.

Educational resources for Key Stage 1 to 3 students have been made available to complement a visit. These include risk assessments and pre and post visit worksheets such as Beside the Seaside, Changing Coastline and Tourism at the Tower.

Teachers can also order free activity bags, which introduce pupils to Key Stage 2 Geography, English and Numeracy and are linked to the tower and the Hampshire area. These will be available for collection from reception upon arrival.

Pupils studying Business Studies or Leisure and Tourism, meanwhile, can utilise the Key Stage 4 resource pack, which analyses the various aspects of the Spinnaker Tower business and its relationship with the tourism industry.

A free familiarisation visit is available for teachers to help plan their day.
