According to GTC Travel Group, a group flight specialist, school travel to Africa and China has risen in 2018.

Great Wall of China

GTC Travel Group has reported a 30% growth in school group travel to China and a 15% growth to Africa in 2018.

The company has suggested that the trends are also set to continue to rise in 2019 in line with the increase in the number of British students learning Mandarin.

GTC has also reportedly experienced a growth in demand for groups on adventure trips and charity projects to Kenya and South Africa, as schools broaden their horizons to provide compelling educational visits.

With just over 30,000 seats booked this year, Tahir Bhimani, director of GTC Travel group, commented: “While we have seen some of our corporate clients booking late and being cautious for 2019, Brexit has not dampened the enthusiasm of school group organisers, and demand from this sector is still growing.”
