School Travel Awards 2018%2F19

The School Travel Awards 2018/19 initiative, including big partners and special accolades, will culminate in a ceremony at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, on Friday 16th November.

As we launch this year’s School Travel Awards, once again big names from across the school travel sector have already signed up to support this special campaign.

Recognising the best companies and operators in educational visits and school travel, the awards shine a spotlight on schools, teachers and outdoor learning coordinators who go the extra mile to ensure children benefit from the best experiences.

This year’s initiative will again culminate in a five-star ceremony and lunch at the Royal Garden Hotel in London. TV broadcaster and newsreader Fiona Bruce, who described the range of “truly inspiring trips and remarkable teachers” last year, will return to host the event.

The 17 awards, which include Best Venue for English Learning, Best Residential Experience and Best School Tour Operator, honour the commitment and passion of staff across organisations that provide educational trips and LOtC experiences.

Two of the awards acknowledge the dedication of teachers and the schools themselves through the School Trip Champion and ‘My Best School Trip’ Awards – both involving a prize of £1,500 towards a future educational visit.

Details of voting, entries and nominations will be included in future editions of the School Travel Organiser magazine, and details will be available here: www.schooltravelorganiser.com/awards

What the partners say…

Sarah Handy, senior sales & marketing manager, Hard Rock Cafe, London:

“We’re so pleased to be involved in the School Travel Awards for 2018/19. After attending the ceremony at the Royal Garden Hotel for the last two years and seeing first-hand the celebration of the best in the sector, we’re really looking forward to this year’s event. It’s a great initiative and the perfect way to highlight the fantastic work by those who ensure schools have access to the best trips for their pupils.”

Jamie Lawrence, schools executive, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort:

“The decision to support this year’s School Travel Awards was a no-brainer for us; it’s a fantastic initiative and recognises the great work taking place across the sector to offer top quality educational experiences. We thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony in Kensington last year. It was brilliant hearing from Fiona Bruce about the importance she places on school trips, and a great networking opportunity too.”
