Scarborough theatre opens new learning space

Date Posted: 08/05/2015

On 17th May, the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough will open its OutReach Rooms, a learning space which will host a number of educational workshops for schools and the community.

The OutReach department in the Stephen Joseph Theatre will offer educational sessions for schools in its newly opened OutReach Rooms from 17th May.

These workshops can be tailored to each school’s requirements and designed to follow the National Curriculum guidelines for different Key Stages and to utilise creative ‘outside-the-box’ learning methods.

Examples of themes and topics for the workshops include habitats, Victorian history, the human body, forces and literacy. During their visits, schools will benefit from having access to a professional theatre. Plus, they’ll have the opportunity to perform at the Stephen Joseph Theatre during its annual Schools Festival in February.
