Post-war to present day: the residents of Port Sunlight

Port Sunlight Museum in Merseyside has launched its latest exhibition, From House to Home – a display of the historical journey about the residents who live and have lived in Port Sunlight Village – from post war to present day residents.

From House to Home is part of a programme of events planned for the village this year.

A selection of walks, part of the Wirral Walking Festival taking place in May, will include special interest walks and talks on; The Public Gardens Of Port Sunlight, Health & Wellbeing in Port Sunlight, Conserving Port Sunlight Heritage and Port Sunlight’s First Residents.

Port Sunlight also boasts a purpose-built Learning Centre where it offers school groups a wide range of hands-on workshops and the opportunity to meet with costumed characters from the past.

Teachers can choose from:

•    Victorian Washday (KS1/KS2 - History)
•    Victorians - (KS2 - History)
•    Home Front - (KS2 - History)
•    Port Sunlight Garden Village (KS2 - AS level Geography)
•    Travel and Tourism (GCSE)
