Orchid display returns to Kew Gardens in February

Date Posted: 18/10/2013

The annual orchid display returns to Kew Gardens this February, setting the scene for a warming winter day out for schools visiting its glasshouses and galleries.

Running from 8th February to 9th March, the Princess of Wales Conservatory will be filled with colour, showcasing exotic hybrids and rare species.

Your school group can see the floral displays in the conservatory and also experience a tropical rainforest in the Palm House. Both glasshouses reach temperatures of up to 27°C. Three heated galleries showcasing botanical art add another aspect to your school’s trip.

School visits to Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is suitable for a school trip whatever the weather. In poor weather, students can visit the glasshouses and experience hot and steamy tropical rainforests, arid deserts and cool sub-tropics.

A large selection of school workshops and tours are available.
