Open-air version of Romeo and Juliet on tour

Date Posted: 06/06/2014

The Lord Chamberlain’s Men celebrates its ten year anniversary with a touring production of Romeo and Juliet.

From 10th June to 29th September the actor-musicians will visit historic and heritage sites across the UK to perform Shakespeare’s tragic play.

The company has an all-male cast, who follow in the footsteps of the original Lord Chamberlain’s Men - a troupe of travelling players which William Shakespeare worked with for most of his career - and perform in full Elizabethan costume.

The Lord Chamberlain’s Men also offer a series of matinee performances for schools across its season. These performances are followed by a post-show question and answer session with the company.

Tour dates for Romeo and Juliet include:

•    Speke Hall Liverpool: 2nd July
•    Batsford Arboretum, Gloucestershire: 10th July
