Date Posted: 12/09/2013

Theatre Royal Stratford East in London will produce satirical war musical, Oh What a Lovely War in 2014, which will mark the 100th anniversary of World War One.

The production will run from 1st February until 15th March, with school group tickets available to book now.

Oh What a Lovely War is directed by Terry Johnson and designed by Lez Brotherston, and Joan Littlewood originally adapted the play from Charles Chilton’s work for radio through her company Theatre Workshop.

The musical is packed with familiar songs from the World War One era including It's a Long Way to Tipperary, Pack up Your Troubles and Keep the Home Fires Burning. The songs are performed against a projected backdrop of images and statistics conveying the harsh realities of war.

School trip organisers will receive one free ticket for every nine tickets purchased via the Box Office.
