National Media Museum’s 2013 exhibition programme

Celebrating 30 years in 2013, school travel organisers can choose from a selection of exhibitions and events as part of the National Media Museum’s anniversary programme.

Events will include the 19th annual Bradford International Film Festival from 11th to 21st April, and the Bradford Animation Festival from 12th to 16th November.

Forthcoming exhibitions include:

Tom Wood: Photographs 1973-2013 – from 8th March to 16th June

Regularly walking the streets of Liverpool, and seldom without his camera, Wood has recorded the people he encountered with a rare and empathetic insight into human nature.

100 years of Indian Cinema – from 8th March to 16th June

Indian Cinema is 100 years old in 2013. The National Media Museum is hosting a number of events celebrating its centenary, including an exhibition, family events, and a series of Indian films.

Doctor Who 50th anniversary – throughout October

During October the museum will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. In 1963 the famous Time Lord first enthralled television audiences across the land, and remains as popular as ever today.

Revelations: Experiments in Photography – throughout November

The Media Space exhibition arrives in Bradford from the Science Museum, and explores contemporary art photographers’ responses to scientific photography made between 1850 and 1920.
