Museum of London venue for Sherlock Holmes exhibition

Date Posted: 11/11/2013

Opening on 17th October 2014 and running through until 12th April 2015, the Museum of London welcomes a new exhibition next autumn, delving into the mind of fictional detective Sherlock Holmes.

This is London’s first exhibition on the detective since 1951, and a school trip to the exhibition can question who Sherlock Holmes really is and why he still conjures up such enduring fascination.

Explore how Arthur Conan Doyle’s character has transcended literature onto stage and screen and continues to attract huge audiences to this day.

Going beyond film and fiction, you’ll be transported to the real Victorian London – the backdrop for many of Conan Doyle’s stories. Through early film, photography, paintings and original artefacts, the exhibition will recreate the atmosphere of Sherlock’s London, with visitors able to envisage the places that the detective went.

Tickets are now on sale to school trip organisers.
