More for Key Stage 1 and 2 from the Spinnaker Tower

Date Posted: 20/07/2013

After recently launching a range of Key Stage 1 and 2 educational resources in the spring, the Spinnaker Tower has announced a new series of worksheet-led activities for school groups visiting the Portsmouth venue.

The short activities aim to add focus and structure to a school visit and can be combined with any of the tower’s existing worksheets or prop boxes.

New activities for Key Stage 1 and 2 include:

No Half Measures - Numeracy

The 'No Half Measures' activity engages your students with the day-to-day problems of volume, area and perimeters.

Spinnaker will provide you with tape measures, calculators and a section of the glass floor on arrival, in order for pupils to calculate the area, volume, fractions and perimeter.

International Visitors - English, Numeracy, Humanities

Using visitor information, school groups will produce a tally and bar chart, and answer questions about where they have come from.

School children will plot the flags from the country of origin or famous iconic structures onto a world map.
