Marti Pellow amongst cast announced for Evita tour

Date Posted: 02/12/2013

Marti Pellow is set to play the male lead Che in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, which is touring UK venues from January to June next year.

Pellow started his career as the front man for the band Wet Wet Wet, and has since enjoyed a solo career plus West End appearances in Jekyll and Hyde, Chicago and Blood Brothers.

Telling the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, Evita follows Eva’s journey from humble beginnings through to wealth, power and iconic status which ultimately led her to be heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ by the Argentine people.

Pellow’s character Che reflects the voice of the Argentine people; linked to Eva by destiny he brings conflict to the story of Eva’s rise to fame.

Evita features hit songs including Don't Cry for Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars, Another Suitcase in another Hall, and Oh What a Circus.
