Activity company, Manor Adventure, has added a new sports centre to its list with the Norfolk Lakes Adventure Centre, for school residentials.

The centre will reportedly be the company’s water sport and outdoor pursuits flagship for school groups on the eastern side of the UK.

Norfolk Lakes Adventure Centre is situated on the River Wensum and on the edge of the village of Lyng, 11 miles away for Norwich.

What can school expect from the centre?

The facility boast 37 acres of safe water suitable for beginners and intermediate school groups, and 65 acres overall.

There are a range of water related activities for pupils to get involved in as part of a residential school trip, including sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding and raft building.

In addition there are land based pursuits, such as caving, archery, climbing, high and low ropes courses, fencing, and camp craft skills.

Each activity can be tailor made to suit the learning objectives of each school.

The facilities on offer to schools at Norfolk Lakes include luxury accommodation units on either side of a very large indoor facility, which offers a range of indoor activities, common rooms for teachers and pupils, dining facilities and a teachers’ bar.

Manor Adventure has centres in Scotland, Wales, England and France which all cater for residentials and outdoor pursuit school trips.

Teacher familiarisation trips at each of the centres are also available.

For Secondary pupils studying World War One, trips to the French centre can be combined with guided battlefield tours in Ypres and the Somme.
