Casting has been announced for new musical Made in Dagenham, with Adrian Der Gregorian starring alongside Gemma Arterton as her on-stage husband Eddie.

Made in Dagenham is based on the Ford sewing machinists’ strike of 1968; a landmark labour-relations dispute which help trigger the passing of the Equal Pay Act 1970.

As previously announced, Gemma Arterton will play the lead role of Rita O’Grady. The pair will be joined by Steve Furst playing US Ford executive Mr Tooley, Mark Hadfield as Harold Wilson, Sophie-Louise Dann as Barbara Castle, and Julius D’Silva as Ford Dagenham boss Mr Hopkins.

Director, Rupert Goold, commented: “We have in this show some of the best original music around and a cracking script and to know that it will be performed by this multi-talented, wonderful, diverse, rowdy bunch of actors makes me keener than ever to get into the rehearsal room.”

Made in Dagenham opens at the Adelphi Theatre on 5th November. The show contains some strong language and teachers are advised to contact the box office for information.
