The Royal Horticultural Society will be running a CPD event on 9th June that teaches teachers how to set-up and sustain a school gardening club.

Knebworth Walled Garden

The event will take place at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire and is suitable for teachers of all Key Stages.

At the end of the course, teachers will know what is needed to set up and run a successful, sustainable school gardening club.

They’ll also be able to plan a complete programme of fun, creative indoor and outdoor activities, for a full school year.

Plus, they’ll have learnt the basic skills of soil preparation, sowing, plant establishment and maintenance to support gardening club activities.

The CPD event has been created as part of the RHS’s broader Campaign for School Gardening, which has been designed to support schools in providing gardening opportunities for pupils.

The tutor on the day will be Alison Findlay, one of the advisors on the campaign.

The cost of the course is £95 per person.
