Learn coding in Newcastle

Date Posted: 07/05/2015

Between May and November a series of hands-on coding workshops will run at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle.

A programme of new coding workshops is being launched at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle this month, to complement the new exhibition Game On 2.0.

The 2.0 exhibition will pique pupils’ imaginations by showcasing a range of computer games from past and present.

Students will have the opportunity to explore the history of computer games and the way in which they have impacted on culture, family and the nature of entertainment.

Running alongside the exhibition will be a number of coding workshops that have been created in conjunction with Teeside University.

The workshops are targeted at different age ranges, from Key Stage 1 to 4, and have been developed to support the latest National Curriculum changes that will require children to learn coding.

Pre-booking is essential and the exhibition runs from 23rd May to 1st November.
