Kingswood campaigns for water sports safety

The outdoor education provider has partnered with the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK) as part of its ongoing commitment to water safety.

The new three-year partnership with RLSS UK, a UK water safety charity, will see Kingswood staff benefit from the charity’s National Water Safety Management Programme, aided by IQL, a provider of lifeguard training.

The programme will provide the Kingswood team with essential knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about managing safety in and around water to ensure the wellbeing of its customers.

During a residential with Kingswood, schools can get involved with a number of water sport activities, from kayaking to canoeing.

As a popular choice for schools, the activity centre organisation will benefit greatly from the partnership, as it means it can further ensure teachers and parents of the safety of pupils who take part in water sports during a trip.

“Consideration for our visitors’ safety runs through everything we do,” said Robert Sidley, head of talent, training and development at Kingswood.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with RLSS UK. We highly value their water safety training and through this partnership we are up-skilling our team of water sports leaders who will go on to enhance the training of our apprentices and instructors across Kingwood centres.”

Keith Osborne, IQL UK national account manager, also commented: “Kingswood is one of a number of recent additions to the IQL UK fold, putting them at the forefront of water safety training and education. We are delighted to be assisting Kingswood in the training and development of their staff, so that they can safely provide valuable outdoor experiences that positively impact the future of thousands of young people.”
