Dick and Dom

Schools across the UK have the chance to win a place for an entire class of nine to 13-year olds on what is described as the ‘Ultimate School Trip’ with Jet2holidays.

In total, nine classes and their teachers will get to spend a long weekend in April 2018 at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort in Majorca, where they will take part in fun educational workshops with celebrity hosts.

Jet2holidays has teamed up with school travel company WST Travel for the competition which was launched in the November edition of School Travel Organiser Primary magazine.

The Ultimate School Trip

The workshops will focus on Science, History, Drama and Crafts, as well as giving pupils an exciting experience overseas.

In addition to the trip, winning classes will get to experience a range of ‘one-off memories’ such as VIP send offs at the airport, a welcome dinner with celebrities, and the ultimate school disco and show.

The competition was launched at Wimbledon Chase Primary School by Kids TV presenters, Dick and Dom, who will host the trip.

How to enter

To enter, pupils are challenged to jet-power their imagination and produce their own promotional piece for Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, whether that be a poster, poem, song or video.

The judges, including Dick and Dom, will create a shortlist of five schools in each of Jet2holidays’ nine airport regions, which will then go to a public vote, with the final nine class winners announced on Tuesday 13th March 2018.

All 45 shortlisted schools will receive £1,000 worth of school equipment vouchers. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday 28th February 2018.

Jet2 research: The Ultimate World

To mark the launch, Jet2holidays polled the nation’s school children to discover the ‘hilarious, heart-warming and sometimes down right odd things’ British children would want to see in their ‘ultimate world’.

The research showed that 84% said they plan to make the world a better place and 77% saying they could do a better job than most politicians and world leaders.

When it comes to the next Prime Minister, Simon Cowell got the vote of today’s schoolchildren, followed by Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Ariana Grande, and Dick & Dom themselves. No politician made the top 20.

Encouragingly, children expressed a strong desire to learn in the study, with reportedly not a single respondent wanting to get rid of schooling. School trips, friends, and brilliant teachers came out as the top things about school.
