School children can attend two Horrible Histories shows at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre in January 2016.

From 20th to 23rd January 2016, the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre will host two live shows, Groovy Greeks and Incredible Invaders for History students. These performances are based on the educational entertainment series Horrible Histories.

There are two productions per day with each one lasting approximately 80 minutes with a 20 minute interval.

The shows feature 3D special effects, and are presented by the Birmingham Stage Company.

Groovy Greeks teaches pupils about the history of the ancient Greeks. The differences between the two iconic Greek cities Sparta and Athens, the origins of democracy and the world of myths and legends including the Minotaur of Crete are covered in the performance.

Incredible Invaders leads students on a chronological journey through the history of Britain starting with the consequences of the Roman invasion of AD43. The show also teaches pupils about the Anglo-Saxon and Viking invasions with references to their settlements and kingdoms.

Schools will receive discounted admission rates with one free staff member ticket for every ten students.

Teachers can download some free resource packs to complement the visit here.
