Historic Dockyard Chatham marks WWI centenary

The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent has revealed details of a calendar of events and temporary exhibitions to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One.

The attraction is also observing the 70th anniversary of the launch of HMS Cavalier and 70th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.

Between 26th July and 30th November, Valour Loss and Sacrifice: Chatham, The Royal Navy and the War at Sea 1914-18 at No.1 Smithery: The Gallery will depict the important role Chatham Dockyard, its workers and the Chatham Port Division of the Royal Navy played in the ‘Great War’.

New film locations tour

Teachers can also now book a Film Locations tour and spot areas from famous scenes of many blockbusters such as Les Misérables, Sherlock Holmes and Mr Selfridge, to name a few.
