Harewood House’s 2013 art season

Exhibition In Cloud Country: Abstracting from nature – from John Constable to Rachel Whiteread - at Harewood House in Leeds, will bring together a diverse range of works spanning four centuries, and features artists such as John Constable, John Sell Cotman, Henry Moore and Rachel Whiteread.

Running from 29th March to 30th June, the exhibition has been jointly curated by Iwona Blazwick, director of the Whitechapel Gallery in London, and artist/curator Diane Howse, Countess of Harewood. Iwona and Diane first met when they studied art together in Exeter.

Highlights from the 2013 season

Objectivity by David Usborne, will be on display in the Servants’ Hall from 16th February to 1st September. The display aims to show how useful tools have made an impact on our lives, and items that in themselves are considered works of art.

Artist Clare Woods’ solo exhibition The Seven Eggs, including three new works inspired by the landscape surrounding Harewood House, opens 6th July to 29th September.
