Go backstage at the theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds

Date Posted: 30/03/2013

Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds welcomes the return of its Backstage Past visitor experience this summer, enabling groups to explore backstage and downstage of the Regency-era playhouse.

Running from 5th June to 17th August, Backstage Past will allow visitors to discover almost 200 years of theatre-going history, with the chance to try on costumes, tread the boards, and uncover the stars that have been part of the theatre’s story

The theatre tours were trialled for the first time last year, and will be available for school groups to book from Wednesday to Sunday during its summer opening.

School travel organisers can also arrange a similar animated tour ten minutes down the road from Theatre Royal at Ickworth House.

The tour is free to National Trust members.
