Glyndebourne Tour offers exclusive performances for school groups

Date Posted: 22/07/2013

Launching on 6th October, the Glyndebourne Tour 2013 celebrates the birth of Benjamin Britten with a new production of The Rape of Lucretia, and introduces its first Encore Week with a series of events aiming to inspire a new generation of opera lovers.

The Rape of Lucretia is directed by actress and director Fiona Shaw and makes its premier during this year’s Glyndebourne Tour.

The new Britten production will be staged alongside Laurent Pelly’s 2008 reimagining of Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel; and Annabel Adren’s L’elisir d’amore is also revived for the tour after its celebrated first outing in 2007.

The three productions make up the 45th Glynebourne Tour, which visits Woking, Norwich, Canterbury, Milton Keynes, Plymouth and Stoke-on-Trent.
