Glyndebourne Festival programme announced

Date Posted: 30/12/2013

The 2014 Glyndebourne Festival, running from 17th May to 24th August, includes performances of Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier, Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera, Verdi's La Traviata, Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Handel's Rinaldo.

Mozart’s Don Giovanni, is perhaps one of the more well-known offerings on the festival programme.

This particular production is a revival of Jonathan Kent’s 2011 version of the famous opera. Elliot Madore sings the title role following his UK and Glyndebourne debut as Ramiro in Glyndebourne’s 2012 production of Ravel’s L’heure espagnole.

School trip organisers will find performances of Don Giovanni during the end of the summer term, from 28th June to 21st August.

Education at Glyndebourne

As part of a school visit to see a performance, or a tour of the Sussex venue, Glyndebourne Education offers dedicated performances for schools alongside its Glyndebourne Youth Opera, providing workshops and performance opportunities for local school groups.

Teachers will be able to book tickets for all productions from 10th March.
