Futuristic exhibition at the Design Museum

Date Posted: 10/07/2013

Running from 24th July to 29th October, The Future Is Here: A New Industrial Revolution will be the next big exhibition at the Design Museum in London.

The Future is Here explores how the boundaries between designer, manufacturer and consumer are becoming increasingly blurred.

The exhibition aims to show Design students the significant changes that have occurred in the way objects are made, the materials they are made of and the type of objects that people use.

Pupils on a school trip can see manufacturing techniques demonstrated in The Future is Here Factory and find out how they will change the world around us.

Teachers wishing to make a self-guided school visit are asked to book a timed arrival slot; and advance booking is essential.

Workshops and learning resource material

Education providers can visit the Design Museum’s website for a variety of downloadable resources developed to support teachers in planning a visit, and students in making the most of their trip, including preparation, in-gallery and follow up activities.

Workshops are available for school groups, but teachers must book these at least 12 weeks in advance.
