East is East on tour

Date Posted: 17/03/2015

Following a critically acclaimed West End run, Ayub Khan Din’s play will tour the UK from June.

East is East is a semi-autobiographical account of British Asian life in the 1970s, and the clash of cultures that occurred in Salford at the time.

It follows the story of George Khan, and his wife and children as they make a life for themselves in Britain and develop their identities.

In addition to being useful for Drama studies, the play can be used to explore the themes of faith, identity and family that are relevant to Citizenship classes.

The tour will start at the Theatre Royal Brighton on 11th June and call in to everywhere from Torquay to Bath. It will star Pauline McLynn in the lead female role.
