Curriculum-linked photography competition launched

The property website Rightmove has launched a photography competition with Curriculum resources to get pupils away from their desks.

A new photography competition and a set of National Curriculum-linked resources have been launched by Rightmove.

The ‘My Neighbourhood’ initiative has been designed to challenge five to 18 year olds to take photos of their local neighbourhoods in the categories of places, people and activities.

The aim of the competition is to get students thinking about what makes their neighbourhood special and the images can then be used as part of SMSC, PHSE, Citizenship, Geography and art sessions and lessons.

Curriculum resources, available for teachers, have been split into Primary and Secondary categories and include assembly notes, lesson plans, and template for letters to parents.

The deadline for applications is 19th July and the winning schools will be announced in September.
